Thank you for submitting your admissions application to attend Kentucky State University.
As you continue through the admissions process please make sure that you contact your guidance counselor so that they can submit the following information in a timely manner.

Application Fee
- $30.00 for domestic students
- $100.00 for international students
- Official College/High School Transcript (s)
- Official SAT/ACT/TOEFL
- Financial Affidavit (for international students only)
- Declaration of Finances (for international students only)
Note: If you have not taken the SAT/ACT yet you can still submit your transcripts and we will wait for your Official Test Scores to be sent at a later date. |

Application Instructions
After reading the instructions, please fill out the online application as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen.
Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit your application. Return it with the nonrefundable application fee of $22 ($74 for international applicants) made payable to Kentucky State University to the address below.
Submit the Secondary School Transcript
- An official copy of the high school transcript is required of all applicants.
- GED test results. If you withdrew from high school prior to graduation, submit an official high school transcript to the point of withdrawal and official GED test results.
Test Scores
- All students seeking admission to Kentucky State University must arrange to take the ACT/SAT test(s).
- You must indicate on the ACT/SAT examination registration form that test scores be sent to Kentucky State University. Our ACT code is 1516. Our SAT code is 1368.
- Contact your guidance office for registration forms and information about the tests.
Notice of Admission
- When an application for admission, application fee, high school transcript, and test scores have been received and evaluated, the applicant will be notified of his/her admission status.
- Action cannot be taken until all information has been received in the Office of Admissions.
Transfer Applicants
- A transfer student is considered to be any person who has enrolled in a college or university other than Kentucky State University prior to applying to KSU.
- To qualify for admission as a transfer, the student must be in good standing at the last institution attended with a grade point average of 2.00 or above.
- Official copies from all previously attended institutions must be mailed directly to the Office of Admissions. Hand delivered credentials are not accepted. Institutions may also fax credentials to the Office of Admissions.
- Transfer students who do not have 24 semester hours transferable credits will be asked to submit their high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores.
International Applicants
- Submit this online application for admission.
- Return the application agreement statement with the $74 nonrefundable application fee made payable to Kentucky State University.
- Verification of graduation from high school or secondary institution.
- Official high school transcripts/certificate in English with translation certified. Nigerian students must submit WASC.
- Official SAT/ACT or TOEFL scores (must be 525 or above).
- Demonstration via Declaration of Certification of Finance that sufficient funds are available to finance the planned course of study without causing undue hardship on the student.*
- A statement from the bank, lending agency, or sponsor that stipulates the amount of money on reserve for tuition, fees, and living accommodations to matriculate in a four-year undergraduate program in the United States.
- A transcript evaluation form (with determined GPA) from an accredited transcript evaluation agency in the United States.
- The policy goes on to say that, upon receipt of the official letter of acceptance, a confirmation deposit of $3500 must be sent before KSU will send an Immigration Form (I-20) (excluding Canadians). A student may use a maximum of 65% of the $3500 deposit to pay the first semester's tuition and fees. The balance will remain on account until the student graduates or withdraws. Students are required to pay in full tuition and fees for all subsequent semesters.

Nondegree Applicants Notice of Admission
- Submit this online application for admission.
- Return the application agreement statement with the $22 nonrefundable application fee made payable to Kentucky State University.
- Visiting/Transient students must submit a letter of good standing from the registrar of the school they are currently attending.

How to Use the Kentucky State University Online Application
|
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from
the popup lists (where applicable).
After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left
column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current
screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct
your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to
skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function
on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.
Once you have completed the application, click the 'SUBMIT' button located on the left column to submit the
application.
